Sustainability has many faces.
At Optimax Energy, it’s not just about renewable energy or an efficient electricity market. For us, it also means making an active contribution to a society where knowledge is shared, talent is nurtured, and young people are encouraged to stay curious.
Taking Action: Supporting Education Instead of Just Demanding Change
As a tech and trading company, we see every day what kind of innovation becomes possible when brilliant minds come together. But new ideas don’t emerge in a vacuum – they are the result of people who have learned to think critically, to question, and to explore new paths with confidence.
That’s why we see ourselves as impulse givers

- providing momentum for growth where it counts.
We want to give young people real opportunities - regardless of their background or starting point. Instead of merely pointing out deficits, we create spaces for learning: through workshops, hands-on university projects, and targeted school programs.
Because education often needs just one thing: the right impulse at the right time. And where young people are given trust and room to grow, potential becomes visible - and with it, the future.
Small Steps, Big Impact: Our Commitment to Education
One of our heart projects is the Leipziger Mathezirkel, where students from across the city meet every two weeks to solve challenging problems under the guidance of an experienced math teacher.
It’s a space where young talent can think freely and try out new approaches – without the pressure of grades or rigid curricula. Something often missing in everyday school life: time to explore, understand, tinker, and play with ideas.
We’ve been providing the Math Circle with space at our office for years, sharing our know-how and contributing our own challenging tasks. And time and again, we’re amazed at how quickly talent can flourish – when the environment is right.
Next Step: An Informatics Circle for Young Coders
Many schools in Leipzig lack the resources to support high-performing students in computer science, especially when it comes to preparing for coding competitions or olympiads. That’s where we want to step in.
Just like with mathematics, we want to make something possible in IT: We're currently working on launching an Informatics Circle in Leipzig – a space for students who love to code, want to build their first projects, or simply connect with other tech enthusiasts.
It’s still early days, but we believe it can become just as impactful as the Math Circle. We’re currently looking for a Computer Science Educator to lead this initiative – more about the position here.
Sharing Knowledge: University Talks, Camps & Scholarships
Our colleagues regularly give guest lectures at universities, take part in Data Science Summer & Winter Camps, and contribute their expertise to hands-on research projects.
We see ourselves as an interdisciplinary partner for academic collaboration – supporting projects not just financially, but also through access to data, real-world experience, and insights into our daily work. That includes conversations with our team or jointly developing real-life case studies.
Through the Germany Scholarship, we’ve also been supporting students who want to make a difference – regardless of background or financial situation. We've been part of this program for many years, with deep conviction.
Because we believe in the potential of the next generation.
Conclusion: Shaping the Future – Because We Believe in It
We see our investment in education as just that: An investment in people. In ideas. In possibilities.
In the talents of tomorrow and in the power of sharing knowledge.
In a culture of collaboration that doesn’t end at our office doors, but carries on in classrooms, lecture halls, and project rooms.
We’re not doing this alone. We’re moving forward with strong partners in education and business - and with people who come to Optimax not just to work, but to give something back.
